Molecular Pathology

The MAWD Molecular Lab was established in 2010 under the direction of Dr. Samuel Caughron, the region's first board certified Molecular Genetic Pathologist. In 2020, MAWD's molecular diagnostics team was expanded to include a second board certified Molecular Genetic Pathologist, Dr. Jon Thomason. Our molecular lab brings the latest advances in diagnostics and personalized medicine to Kansas City and has been designed from the ground up with a vision of the future. The MAWD Molecular Lab houses state-of-the-art molecular equipment capable of running the most advanced diagnostics assays. The lab is staffed by experts in molecular techniques, and is continually adding to the menu of tests performed.
